Reverend Jesse Jackson

Lehigh University’s Africana Studies Program will host a dialogue with Rev. Jesse L. Jackson.  Moderated by James Peterson (Dir. Of Africana Studies) and Rev. Grace Ji-Sun Kim (Moravian College and Seminary), the conversation will explore leadership in the 21st Century and the significance Lehigh University’s celebration of 40 years of co- education.  After the initial dialogue amongst Rev. Jackson and the moderators, members of the audience will be invited to participate by asking questions relevant to the programs topics. 

Tickets will be available to the Lehigh and Moravian communities prior to being made available to the public.  More information regarding ticket distribution will be announced on Monday, February 6th.  Please contact 610-758-3996 for any questions. 

Bach Choir

Dancing with Bach: Baroque, Blue and Brilliant

Performing with The Bach Choir and Bach Festival Orchestra, this year’s dance partners include the Muhlenberg College Dancers, director Corrie Cowart; and the Dance Program of the Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Performing Arts, director Kimberly Maniscalco. Dance styles and repertoire range from classical — Bach’s haunting Concerto in C Minor for Violin and Oboe— to modern with a lively movement from Baroque & Blue, Claude Bolling’s Sonata for Flute and Jazz Piano. Maestro Greg Funfgeld communicates with young listeners to engage their eyes and ears in this imaginative program.

Isabel Wilkerson is a former national correspondent and bureau chief at the New York Times and the first black woman to win a Pulitzer Prize. She will be speaking on her book The Warmth of Other Suns, which is the story of the decades-long migration of black citizens who fled the South for northern and western cities, in search of a better life.

Distinguished Lecture Series
“Learning Disorders, Interventions That Work”
